Since the 1990s, the technological evolution of cell phones and their growing popularity have brought an increasing concern for health issues caused by the electromagnetic frequency (EMF) radiation these devices emit. From warnings against carrying phones in our pockets to recommendations on limiting daily cellphone use because of brain cancer risks, we are becoming increasingly concerned about the potentially high price we are paying to have and use this technology.
Longstanding Concerns
While some forms of electromagnetic radiation are known to be harmful, others are more controversial. We should remember that EMFs come from a large variety of sources. These include our microwaves, cell phones, cordless telephones, smart TVs, television and radio broadcasts, computers, electric house wiring, electric cords, power lines, fitness tracking devices, routers, not to mention ultraviolet waves, x-rays, and gamma rays. We are always practically bathed in EMFs.
As stated in the British Medical Bulletin, electromagnetic fields (EMF) are ubiquitous in modern society. With the growing popularity of the cellular phone accompanied by all its supporting infrastructure such as cell towers, power chargers, Bluetooth headsets and Wi-Fi networks, the public is becoming increasingly concerned about the possibility that “long-term exposure to weak fields might have detrimental health effects due to some, to date unknown, biological mechanism.”
Scientific Research: Mixed Results
Investigations into the possible biological effects of electromagnetic radiation are ongoing. The National Center for Biotechnology Information reports that “some animals respond to extremely low levels of electromagnetic fields (EMF).” As far as humans are concerned, Dr. Anthony Miller, World Health Organization advisor, is of the opinion that the “evidence indicating wireless is carcinogenic has increased and can no longer be ignored.”
Although much more research still needs to be done, there are reports that EMF sources could cause cancer. One recent meta-analysis and review of many studies concluded that “magnetic field exposure level may be associated with childhood leukemia” The National Cancer Institute reports that studies “have not found consistent evidence for an association between the use of household electrical appliances and risk.” It also highlights two studies leading the UK Health Protection Agency to say that there was “no reason why Wi-Fi should not continue to be used in schools and in other places.”
Taking Precautions
While the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) notes that various frequencies are regulated, regardless of the source of radiation, it is definitely best to take precautions. Simple natural ways to reduce exposure to EMFs include: keeping your cell phone and computer at a distance; avoid Bluetooth headsets and use either speakerphone or attached earbuds, and unplugging appliances when not in use.
Adding Protection
Because we don’t know enough about how these EMFs’ impact the human body, we need to take precautions to avoid exposure. Following the natural ways outlined above are a good way to start, but keep in mind that there is also technology available to safely harmonize and minimize the harmful effects of EMFs and electromagnetic radiation (EMRs). The chips packaged into the Hallelujah Diet’s revolutionary GIA Wellness Universal Guard provide your first line of defense, a layer of protection, by actively working to neutralize the effects of your exposure to harmful electromagnetic radiation. They also strengthen the body’s resilience to stress at the same time.
Bottom Line
The threat posed by Electromagnetic Frequencies not only requires more independent study but also our active participation in seeking ways to avoid and neutralize it.
