Steaming Away Impurities
Depending on the client’s skin type and sensitivity, you may wish to use a steam vapor to get rid of impurities and loosen blackheads. Steam may not be the best choice for clients with sensitive skin.
Exfoliation and Extraction
There are different types of exfoliant. Mild chemical and manual exfoliants can be used during the application of steam. Stronger chemical peels are not done at the same time as the steam. Extractions are a procedure performed to remove blackheads and whiteheads. Watch your client carefully to make sure she is not uncomfortable during this phase.
