PARIS — Guillaume Motte has been named the new president of Sephora Europe and Middle East, effective March 5. Motte, who currently serves as chief executive officer of men’s ready-to-wear brand Celio, succeeds Stephan Borchert in the post. Borchert is now ceo of GrandVision. Motte will report to Chris de Lapuente, president and ceo of Sephora Worldwide, who is member of the executive committee at the retailer’s parent company LVMH Moët Hennessy Luis Vuitton. De Lapuente in a statement lauded Motte’s deep knowledge of markets and customers across Europe, and the Middle East and his passion for building high-performing organizations — assets which will help continue boosting Sephora’s ominichannel business in the regions. Motte since 2015 has held the ceo role at Celio. He was appointed to that same job at women’s rtw brand Jennyfer in 2011. Prior to that, he held positions at companies including Al Tayer Trends, FNAC, PPR and McKinsey.
